Progressive Pediatrics Cares For All Stages of Your Child's Life
Progressive Preventative Care…
Our main focus at Progressive Pediatrics is on preventive care. By helping your baby get off to a healthy start in life, we can also help prevent illness and disease with thorough exams, appropriate immunizations and comprehensive care. We believe that prevention is always the best cure.
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that each child should see a pediatrician at regular intervals throughout infancy, childhood and adolescence in order to get a good preventive health start in life.
We also know that each child and family is unique. The recommendations for preventive pediatric health care are designed for the care of children who have no important health problems and are growing and developing normally. For children who are otherwise in good health, we recommend the following age guidelines for pediatric preventive care visits:
- 3 days after leaving the hospital
- 1 week after the first visit
- At 1, 2, 4, 6 and 9 months
- At 1 year
- At 15 and 18 months
- At 2 years (24 months)
- Once a year after age 2 until age 21

The frequency of preventive care visits up until age 2 is critically important for identifying and treating problems early, when they are easiest to treat.
