When adding in healthy, lean proteins, some people get skeptical about eating fish. They may think it’s too “fishy” or difficult to cook. The truth is that if you are not vegetarian, fish is one of the healthiest proteins that you can eat on a regular basis.
So why eat fish?

- The healthy Omega-3 vitamins in fish are wonderful for your skin and heart.
- These vitamins also help fight inflammation, which helps with your overall health and weight loss. Fish is considered an anti-inflammatory food!
- It’s great for your immune system!
- It’s a great protein source. Remember that eating lean proteins can help you feel fuller, faster, and longer. Check out our recent post about this! (link)
Maybe you’re convinced, but you’ve never cooked fish or are afraid to try it? The good news is that there are many different types of fish with a variety of tastes. And you can cook it whatever way you like! Here are just a few cooking methods you can try:
1. Grilled Fish

2. Sauteed fish

3. Baked fish

Additionally, you can flavor it with lemon, salt, pepper, or even your favorite light sauce! This will help you get used to the flavor and texture to see that most fish isn’t all that “fishy” at all!
If you are unsure if you like fish, try looking up a healthy recipe online. Simple online searches will give you step-by-step instructions on properly cooking fish (watch that temperature!) and flavoring it in delicious ways.
So the moral of the story is that if you are not vegetarian and looking to try a new protein source, we highly recommend eating fish two times a week. It’s heart-healthy, makes your skin look great, and is a wonderful source of protein! Remember that by eating a healthy diet and moving your body each day, you are putting yourself on the path to success in your weight loss and wellness journey!
